OUR ROLE | Action Plan Development
The Kaipātiki Climate Action Plan was developed with the Kaipātiki Local Board in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland, to address the impacts of climate change in the area and is based on the strategic principles of The Auckland Plan, and Te Taruke-aTawhiri: (Auckland's Climate Plan).
The plan outlines a series of actions that the Kaipāriki Local Board and its residents can take to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase resilience to climate impacts.
The Kāipatiki Local Board Chair put it well when he said;
‘Auckland is in a climate emergency. We have less than a decade to make the major changes we need to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. While there are many actions underway at the national and regional level to reduce Auckland’s emissions, it is vitally important that we also act at a local level. This plan sets out practical actions that the Kaipātiki Local Board can take over the next three years and beyond to support the transition to a zero carbon and climate resilient future.’
