Ko Samantha McGavock ahau.

Samantha McGavock | Ngāi Tahu | Kaihautū | Director.

Through her whakapapa, Sam recognises that we are deeply connected to the environment rather than separate from it, and she operates in unwavering alignment with this notion. ‘Ko au te taiao, te taiao ko au’.

Sam holds a Masters of Architecture and is both a Regenerative Practitioner and Living Futures Accredited Professional who is immersed in Te Ao Māori. She utilises these perspectives to manage projects which emphasise the interconnectedness of living systems and the continued regeneration of those systems for the benefit of both people and place.

Sam is the founder and Kaihautū (Director) of Done. As a Regenerative Project Manager, she leads the Done team and works alongside clients, project teams, communities, iwi, hapū and marae to deliver transformational projects.

In addition to project work, Sam enjoys roles which expand her horizons and allow her to contribute to industry capacity building more broadly, such as by co-facilitating a professional accreditation course with the Living Future Institute of Australia and as an Auckland Urban Design Panel member.

Janna Mara | Kairuruku Pūtere Whakapai | Assistant Regenerative Project Manager.

Following 20 years in strategic marketing, communications and project management mahi in the health sector, Janna found that her own health and happiness is strongly influenced by nature and her connection to it. She followed her passion and retrained in Landscape Design at the Unitec School of Architecture, achieving distinction.

With this combination of experience, knowledge and skills, along with her training as a Regenerative Practitioner, Janna is well-equipped to help drive Done’s projects as an Assistant Regenerative Project Manager. She is a highly-organised and collaborative hard worker who is happy to muck in on all aspects of a project. Janna thoroughly enjoys learning about and respecting mātauranga Māori and is eager to continually develop her understanding about this important element of our projects and practice.

Janna’s affinity with te taiao and connection to Done. values is strong; “I want to make an impact at a level that benefits both the health of our precious whenua and the communities that she sustains”.

Jamie Dale | Pou Whirinaki | Team Support.

With more than a decade of executive-level support experience under her belt, including assistance to both the Mayor and Chief Executive of Whakatāne District Council - Jamie is adept at navigating complex environments and confidential situations with ease.

Jamie provides Team Support to Done, including business administration and support to projects through document control, coordination, planning for and minuting hui and wānanga, and seeing things that need doing before you can spot them. We value Jamie’s incredible organisation skills and cheerful attitude.

Jamie connects to, learns from, and is inspired by Te Ao Māori, playing her part to form a thriving Aotearoa for her four Ngāti Awa children. When we were thinking up a name to describe Jamie’s role, we landed on Pou Whirinaki – which is used to describe the ultra-reliable, and dependable pillar of support that she is!

Margaret Browne | Whakawhiti Kōrero | Communications.

Margaret brings valuable and varied experience to the table following more than 15 years of mahi in both Aotearoa and the UK, spanning communication, strategy, social media, public relations and executive leadership.

Margaret works with Done, our project teams, and clients to help shape and communicate the stories we’re proud of. We work with people who are often mindful of the whakatauki ‘kāore te kumara e kōrero ana mo tōna ake reka’ (the kumara doesn’t speak about its own sweetness). In light of this, Margaret helps us to communicate our projects and successes in a way that acknowledges and celebrates the contributions and achievements of all. We really appreciate the level of care that Margaret brings to this aspect of her role.

Margaret’s strengths lie in building relationships, designing and implementing strategies and raising organisational and project profiles. Margaret is also an experienced graphic designer, who creates beautiful and clear visual imagery to help communicate a story.
